Beyond her musical prowess, RoseeLu has curated a very vibrant and polychromatic home with her boyfriend David, and their newest family member, Aston, a 12-week-old puppy. RoseeLu's artistic aspirations extend beyond her music and our visit overflowed with conversations spanning from design to politics to emphasizing the importance of authenticity amidst the digital age. Have you always wanted to pursue a music career and what inspired you to go for it?
With any other career, it’s full of ups and downs, but can you describe some
moments when you felt your career taking off?

I like to call music “therapy”.. Music has been an integral part of my life from a very young age,
serving not just as a form of expression but as a means of navigating the complexities of emotions
and experiences. Music is the perfect tool to shake up my mood. When I’m happy, the right
songs can increase my feeling of happiness and make the feeling last longer.

With any other career, it’s full of ups and downs, but can you describe
some moments when you felt your career taking off?

As a little girl I used to come up with lyrics to the melodies my dad composed on his piano. I’d perform in front of the rest of my family in the living room. Therefore playing at the Roskilde Festival in 2022 was truly special to me. It was a crazy experience and a huge milestone. The audience's reaction was overwhelmingly positive, signaling a shift in how I perceived my own potential as an artist in the music industry. Hearing my own songs on the radio is also very special to me. My mom and I would always go on car rides, where we’d drive around for hours just to sing along to the songs playing on the radio.  

Besides the obvious factor of talent, what would you say it requires to break through in the Danish music industry?

I think self discipline plays a huge role in any creative field where you want to make your hobby your work. Patience is key. It takes hard work to transform talent and skill into a craft.

How would you describe your musical style and influences?

I'm heavily influenced by all of the music I listened to during my childhood - Sia, Adelle, Pharell, Mary J. Blige, Dolly Parton, John Lennon just to name a few.. I mostly get inspired by artists who dares to break the mold and experiment with different genres. I love powerful vocals. My aim is to create music that resonates with my audience on a personal level, blending storytelling with pop melodies that evokes a wider spectrum of emotions.

Does your creativity show in other areas other than creating music?

Absolutely! My creativity often spills over into other aspects of my life, such as interior design and
fashion, where I enjoy mixing vintage finds with modern items to create unique looks. I'm also
passionate about visual art, Iike painting. I’m thankful for having multiple creative outlets
since it allows me to express myself in ways music cannot.

Can you share a memorable experience from your recent participation
in Denmark's Melodi Grand Prix?

Participating in the Melodi Grand Prix was an unforgettable experience that challenged me as an artist
and as a performer. It was my first time playing live on national television. While singing the first
verse of “Real Love” I realized I was performing in front of approximately 1 million viewers. 
It was a moment of realization that made me incredibly honored and fueled my
passion to give the best performance possible. 

You've mentioned the importance of staying true to oneself in the world of technology and social media. How do you maintain authenticity in your online presence and your real life?

Maintaining authenticity in today's digital age is a balancing act. I strive to be transparent and genuine in my online presence, sharing not only my success but also the challenges I face - not only as an artist, but as a human being. I use my platforms to share my music and tell my story. I hope to inspire and connect with my audience on a deeper level. I prioritize self-reflection, meditation and mindfulness. I focus on
staying true to myself and my values, striving to be my authentic self at all times.

What does having a home, and feeling at home, mean to you?

Having a home means more to me than just a physical space—it's where I feel most at peace, where I recharge and be my most authentic self.  My living spaces are what  fuels my life, my creativity, and my music. It's a sanctuary that reflects my personality and my memories. My home is filled with items and mementos that have significance to me. Feeling at home is about being surrounded by love and
comfort whether it's the people I cherish or the environment I've created.

Can you describe your interior choices and general aesthetics?

My interior choices reflect my love for color coordination. My home is a canvas painted with lively shades of light blue, orange, red, and more, creating an energetic and joyful ambiance. This colorful environment mirrors my personality and creative spirit, making my living space not just a place to reside but a source of inspiration. Each room tells a story through form and color, inviting everyone who enters to feel inspired.

Can you tell us a bit about this specific choice of sofa(s)?

Choosing the TWIN sofas in light blue bouclé was a deliberate decision to bring a sense of calm and serenity into my living room. The soft, tactile fabric invites relaxation and comfort, while the light blue hue mirrors the sky on a clear
day, connecting the view of the outside world with the inside of my
home. These sofas not only serve as a centerpiece for gatherings
but also as a personal retreat where I can unwind.

What makes you feel relaxed?

What makes me feel relaxed is a combination of spending time in nature, read books, meditation and indulging in my passion for music, whether that's listening to my favorite songs or experimenting with new melodies on my piano. These activities help me disconnect from the fast-paced world and find a
sense of balance and tranquility within. 

What is your top 3 songs of all time?

It's nearly impossible to choose just three, but if i must, musicians like Elton John , John Lennon and Sia hold a special place in my heart for their unique sound and profound storytelling. From Elton John, 'Tiny Dancer' captivates me with its poignant lyrics and melodic brilliance, while John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’ resonates with its soulful introspection and hopeful lyrics. These artists, among others, inspire me with their ability to connect through music,
transcending genres and eras.”

If you had a superpower what would it be?

The one thing I would choose as my superpower would be
the ability to create world peace.

A fun fact about me is my uncanny ability to remember incredibly specific and often irrelevant details that most people overlook. This quirky talent surprises and amuses my friends and family when I recall obscure facts or events out of the blue. It's like having a personal archive of random trivia, ready to be shared at the most unexpected moments, adding a touch of whimsy to everyday conversations.
