It’s easy to fall into a mindless scroll and imitate what we see on social media, but Laura Schrøder or @laubaubau as she’s known on instagram, sets herself apart. A content creator with a deep passion for both aesthetics and fitness, keeps it real with a sense of humor and a true sense of cultural foresight. While she’s got her eye on current trends in all categories, she loves to mix the old with the new - a signature reflected across her online presence and body of work, blending nostalgic comfort with a fresh, spirited edge.

For those who don't know you, would you like to introduce yourself?

My name is Laura, and I live in Copenhagen with my little family. I’m self-employed and work creatively with content, especially within fashion and lifestyle. I have a deep passion for both aesthetics and fitness - two worlds that, for me, go hand in hand in everyday life.On my profile @laulaubaubau, I share everything from lifestyle and fashion to interiors, everyday humor, and aesthetic content. I love creating joyful, down-to-earth posts and spreading positivity through my channels - and it truly means the world to me that my community is so loyal and engaged.

Even though I live in the city, at heart I’m a true outdoors girl. I often escape to nature – either to our summer house on Bornholm or to my family’s cottage in Rørvig - places where I can really recharge and find inspiration.

How does life look right now? What are you dreaming of at the moment?

Life feels both intense and beautiful – as life with small children often does. I often find myself longing for more calm and balance – a life that allows room for creativity, independence, presence, and play. And then there are the quieter wishes too, like a weekend away with just my husband or more slow days spent at our summer house on Bornholm.

Your Instagram community, especially around fitness and fashion, has grown significantly over the last couple of years. We’d love to hear how you’ve experienced this growth and what thoughts or reflections you’ve had throughout the journey.

It’s been such a fun experience to start working strategically with my Instagram profile, which used to be more of a hobby. I feel incredibly grateful for the trust people show me and for the sense of community that’s grown around what I share. At the same time, it’s also required me to stay mindful of what I truly feel like sharing – and to recognize when I need to take a step back and unplug for a while.

We really love your '5 trends' reels - what are your personal thoughts on the fast-paced nature of constantly evolving trends, and how does it influence your content and creative process?

I’m really passionate about trends and tendencies – not just in fashion, but also in lifestyle, consumer patterns, behavior, platforms, generational shifts, and so much more. However, my main focus is always on maintaining my own personal style and aesthetic – while having fun with trends on my own terms.

Still settling into your home - what have you found to be your process of creating a home? Are there any essentials that make you feel at home, or how do you create this feeling?

For me, it's all about the atmosphere – soft lighting, calming colors, and textures that create peace and warmth. I love mixing the new with the old, and there always needs to be space to actually live. Antique mirrors and fresh flowers are probably my "essentials."

As a mother to a little girl, what do you believe is the most important gift or life lesson you'd like to pass on to your daughter?

That she should always be exactly as she is. And that she is valuable – not for what she does, but for who she is.

My personal style is a blend of…

Scandinavian minimalism with sporty touches and feminine details

My wardrobe is …

a blend of timeless pieces and current trends – always with comfort and great fit as the top priority.

The atmosphere and decor I wanted to create in our home is…

a relaxed and welcoming space, filled with personal touches – perfect for cozy moments and play.

To me, home is a place…

where I can truly be myself, and where our whole family feels safe and at ease.

The FRIDAY sofa reflects our style and life choices by…

being beautiful and functional – just right for slow mornings with coffee, peaceful afternoons with playtime, and cozy family evenings with bedtime stories and movies.

My favorite piece in my home is…

our FRIDAY sofa, it’s become the heart of our home. It’s where we all snuggle up – me, my husband, our daughter, and our dog. We love how there’s room for everyone without feeling cramped.

Whenever I need inspiration, I…

love going for walks or runs with a podcast in my ears – that’s when the best ideas tend to pop up. Or I’ll get lost in inspiration on Pinterest.

I’m at my happiest, when I…

warm, honest, and always full of ideas or working on a new project.

It might surprise you, that…

I truly cherish alone time, even though my life may look very social on the outside.

My best friend would say that I’m…

warm, honest, and always full of ideas or working on a new project.

It brings me joy to...

run, being productive, and dancing with my daughter in the kitchen.

On my wish list is…

a trip to Japan!

If I weren’t doing what I’m doing today, I’d probably be…

a real estate agent, a photographer, or running a beach bar somewhere tropical.

A person who inspires me is…

my mom – for her incredible strength and warmth.

On Saturdays, you’ll catch me at...

Sneezing Fruits on Bryggen, followed by a long walk by the water or through Amager Fælled – it’s my reset button.

The best breakfast can be found at…

I’m all about a simple breakfast: a soft-boiled egg and a slice of toasted rye bread with cheese. And honestly, nothing beats making it at home!

If you're looking for the best coffee…

Sneezing Fruits on Bryggen is the spot.

For date night, we enjoy going to...

Bar Amore and Resto Bar - they’ve both got that relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere, and their pasta is next level.

In the summer, my favorite spots in Copenhagen are...

Rosforth & Rosforth for amazing wine, Ravage for sun and people-watching, and Fiskebaren in the Meatpacking District for laid-back vibes and great weather.
