For those who don’t know you, how would you introduce yourself?

I’m Freya, and I live in Nørrebro with my boyfriend and our daughter. I love the energy of city life, and Nørrebro in particular has such a vibrant, creative feel. I work as an interior stylist, designing home features, working with private clients, and creating campaigns and content for my own platform.

What’s your process for creating a home? Are there particular essentials that make it feel like you, and how would you describe that feeling?

Our home is always evolving. I’m constantly gathering ideas, and sometimes I swap pieces out when I’m ready for a change. I start with a base of color on the walls, but what really makes it feel like ours are the details - the art, the lighting, and, of course, the chairs. I have a growing collection of chairs that I love to mix and match; they bring personality and a lived-in, layered feel to every room. It’s important to me to create a cozy and warm environment - a space that feels welcoming and soft, where it’s truly comfortable to be.

Where do you find your creative energy? Are there people, places, or experiences that influence your work the most?

I love being social - going to events, dining out, and observing both food and people. I’m very inspired by food, culinary art, and restaurant interiors, and Copenhagen itself is such an inspiring city. From the architecture to the people-watching, I often find ways to translate elements from styling outfits into home decor.

Can you take us through your creative process when styling a new space or project?

It really depends on the project I’m working on. For a home feature, for example, I focus on finding the right elements and angles, styling the space to highlight the story we want to tell. I’m naturally very detail-oriented, so my eyes are constantly working - even the smallest details can make a big difference.

How do you approach combining textures, colors, and patterns in your designs?

I really enjoy using different types of wood and mixing patterns, and I think you shouldn’t be afraid to combine them. It’s very much about the feeling and the eye for it. When I step into a private home to style it, I scan the space visually and come up with styling ideas and solutions that will work specifically for that home.

As a creative entrepreneur, how do you balance work and personal life?

I don’t really have a set work-life balance, haha. My days tend to flow naturally, which gives me a lot of freedom and suits me well. I’m also good at taking breaks when I’m not feeling creative or inspired, especially on days I don’t need to leave the apartment. Of course, when I have a home feature or project, that’s a different story - I make sure I’m fully prepared and focused.

At this point in life, what’s the dream? (big or small, a mix or something in between!)

I definitely dream of advancing further in the creative industry, especially in campaign styling for brands. I’d also love to have more time to explore my own platform and creativity, where I can dive into things I enjoy like sewing and painting. For me, it’s about continuing to develop in my field, sharpening my skills, and daring to take more creative risks.

My home must be full of…

love.

If I had to describe my interior style in three words, they would be…

warm, personal, and ever-changing.

My favorite furniture store in Copenhagen is…

FRAMA, though I also love exploring the city for unique finds. I often browse online platforms like DBA, and sometimes a piece of art I’ve seen in a movie sparks a hunt - and occasionally, I get lucky!

The object that perfectly captures my taste is…

my Alvar Aalto Chair 66. It’s one of the few pieces that has remained in place throughout the years we’ve lived here. I love his design, and this chair is truly iconic.

The MAGMA sofa represents my style and life choices because…

we are true sofa lovers. It always looks fresh and stylish, even though we spend every evening lounging on it. It never feels messy, and it’s always beautiful to look at.

My favorite place in the apartment is…

the living room. It’s where we spend the most time together, enjoying each other’s company for hours on end.

On my wish list right now is…

the Bruno Rey chairs in dark brown, recently reissued by Hay. They are destined for our kitchen.

One project I am currently working on…

is our home! It’s an ongoing project, and right now we’re focused on making the entire apartment feel cohesive - especially since I create so much content from here. It’s important that every angle and room works harmoniously.

It brings us joy to…

to have taken meaningful steps in my career that make me feel I’ve grown - and that we never forget to enjoy life, something that’s easy to overlook in the business of everyday life.

It brings me joy to…

hear my daughter’s laughter.

If I weren’t doing what I do today, I’d probably be…

a teacher or a psychologist. I love talking to people and exploring what lies beneath the surface - not just the superficial.

My best furniture or art purchase ever is…

our FRAMA shelf in the living room.

A city I’m excited to visit or return to…

any city in Italy. I love the food, and the country is full of interior inspiration. I also adore the way their restaurants are designed.

In the next five years, I hope…

to keep growing and developing, both personally and professionally.

On Saturdays, you’ll find me at…

a reformer class, and afterward, I usually go to Bottega Barlie for breakfast.

When vintage shopping…

a visit to Mother on Blågårdsgade in Nørrebro or a good flea market is a must.

Whenever I need inspiration…

I love visiting art galleries.

For the best coffee…

Lagkagehuset is my go-to spot for a decaf.
