Anthon Lois is a man of many talents. Most people recognise his name from his club Museo but over the last years he has made a name for himself in the fashion industry with his brand Bareen. We visited Anthon, his lovely wife Valentina and his beautiful baby girl Alba in their charming apartment in central Copenhagen. The first thing to notice when entering the apartment is the minimal style overall. The furniture are meant to speak for themselves and you can tell that there’s an eye to detail. We asked Anthon a couple of questions to get a glimpse of his work and life as a new father. 

You have an elegant yet minimal interior style in your home.
Has interior always been an interest of yours?

It has in a way. But I must be honest though and admit that at the moment my wife Valentina is running the show at home. She has a great eye and out of the two of us, she’s the interior designer in our home.

What makes you fall in love with specific interiors? And why did
TWIN become your livingrooom centre piece?

Again I would have to give the credit to my wife Valentina. She’s definitely the boss when it comes to deciding which furniture pieces we get for our home. But what we both agree on is that we like minimalistic designs and calm colours. This is why we went for Twin. IT’s so comfy and aesthetic to our liking. 

Do you have a mantra that you live by?

I don’t really have a specific mantra. But what is important to me and something that I live by is to always have fun and to live my best life. If you don’t like what you are doing, do something else and if you don’t like the people you surround yourself with, surround yourself with other people.

As an entrepreneur, what is the best part of being your own boss?

The creativity that comes with the job. And I also just love my work so that’s the best I guess.

In who or what do you seek inspiration and guidance? This could be in regards to your work, your work/life balance, or for when you just need some inspiration to drive you personally?

I’m not driven by people specifically. I get more inspired by brands. 

What drove you to create your fashion brand, Bareen?

In the beginning I was just driven by doing something else for a change. I have been hosting parties at night clubs for so long. But I also wanted to build a brand around a “simple” product like an everyday T-shirt In Black & white. That’s something that I found out that I actually love doing.

What would you name your biography?

Live all you can - It will be a mistake not to.

You recently became a father, how has this and your new role in
life changed you?

It’s amazing! I absolutely love being a father. Besides the lack of sleep, it has changed me to a better man. I know it’s very cliché, but it does gives some perspective to what really matters in life.

Name one thing that’s on the top of your bucket list.

To own my own summerhouse in Italy. My wife Valentina is half Italian which makes my daughter Alba a quarter Italian so Italy has a special place in our hearts.
